Future Special Olympians in training

Athletes and friends do an activity with a parachute

Students from Â鶹ӰÒô School of Humanities (ASH) and New Scotland Elementary School had a ball on Wednesday taking part in Special Olympics New York’s Young Athletes Experience.

Staff and students from Â鶹ӰÒô High School’s Unified Sports Program were part of the fun as well, assisting the younger set at skill-building activity stations involving running, kicking and throwing.

The event paves the way for other elementary school students to be involved in Special Olympics competitions and activities in the future.

The day ended with a pizza party. A special shoutout to our school psychologists, speech therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and teacher assistants who accompanied the group.
