Our Â鶹ӰÒô High indoor track and field team had an outstanding performance at the Ed Cepiel TCITL Springfield Invite on Saturday, Jan. 12! Our Falcons delighted family members and fans as they competed throughout the event, and a number of our student-athletes came home with a personal record and/or a school record on the books, which is noted below.


Our girls placed fifth out of 32 teams competing, and the top eight finishers were awarded medals.

Our medalists from Â鶹ӰÒô High were:

  • Second place:
    • Trinity Grant – 200m hurdles with a time of 31.68, which is a personal record and a school record for Â鶹ӰÒô High!
    • Madeline Penna – 600m (personal record)
  • Third place: Trinity Grant – 55m hurdles (personal record)
  • Fourth place:
    • Juliana Mullin – 1000m (personal record)
    • Trinity Grant, Timora Merritt, Madeline Penna, Juliana Mullin – 1600 sprint medley relay
  • Seventh place
    • Yanaiza Correa Fredericks – 200m hurdles (personal record)
    • Evelyne Agogo – 55m dash

Our boys placed second out of 29 teams competing, and the top eight finishers were awarded medals.

Our medalists from Â鶹ӰÒô High were:

  • First place:
    • Samir Gardner – long jump
    • Samir Gardner – triple jump
    • Christian Mack, Adam Elia, Javion Gaddy and Faybian Ugbaja – 4x200 relay
  • Second place:
    • Samir Gardner, Daaron Harrell, Rohan Edwards-Grant and Noah Bizer – 1600 sprint medley relay with a time of 3:38.99, which is a school record and qualifying time for New Balance Nationals!
    • Rohan Edwards-Grant – 55m
  • Third place: Noah Bizer – 600m
  • Fourth place:
    • Nasief Smith – long jump
    • Nasief Smith – 55m
    • Daaron Harrell – 300m
  • Sixth place
    • Adam Elia – 300m
    • Karim Hassy – 1000m
    • Jah’Quinn Thompson, Nasief Smith, Rinitial Dessaint and Javio Gaddy – 4x400 relay

We are ecstatic for our indoor track and field student-athletes and can't wait to see how they will continue to succeed as the season continues! Their next meet will be on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 8 a.m. at Union College.
