Gilmour to head Leadership Academy

The Â鶹ӰÒô Board of Education on Thursday approved the appointment of Roderick W. Gilmour III as principal of Â鶹ӰÒô High School’s Leadership Academy.

Gilmour joined the district in August 2018 as vice principal of Â鶹ӰÒô High, a position the Board of Education voted to abolish on Thursday as a cost-cutting measure.

A veteran administrator familiar with Â鶹ӰÒô High, Gilmour will transition to the Leadership Academy principal post left vacant by the resignation of Lawrence Moultrie.

Before coming to the City School District of Â鶹ӰÒô, Gilmour was an assistant principal at Walter Panas High School in Cortlandt Manor, located in Westchester County. He also was an assistant principal at Nanuet Senior High School in Nanuet, located in Rockland County.

In addition, Gilmour taught social studies for eight years at Clarkstown High School North in New City, also located in Rockland County.

Gilmour earned a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oneonta, a master’s degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College and his administrative certification from Long Island University.
