We are so lucky that we can view so much amazing art - for free - right here in Â鶹ӰÒô! And Friday, some of our seventh graders got a first-hand look at the Empire State Plaza’s renowned collection.
Michelle Patka and Erica Cubello’s students went on a tour, which included paintings, sculptures and mixed media forms of art, and was led by the collection’s curator. The classes ended the field trip by inspired by the pieces they saw.
The students were also able to take a look at some pieces by soon-to-be famous artists. Art created by 92 students throughout the City School District of Â鶹ӰÒô, including Myers, is currently on display at the Empire State Plaza through March 24. An opening reception, to recognize their creativity, is planned for March 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the South Concourse (Madison Ave. entrance). contains 1,300 pieces from 17 districts
