Assistant principal talks about writing with a student

Christina Zontini just started her job as TOAST’s new assistant principal, and by 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning, she’d participated several meetings, visited a classroom and danced in the school’s first Friday morning dance party!

In her last post, Zontini was a biliteracy instructional coach at Â鶹ӰÒô International Academy, a position she held since October 2023. Before that, she taught fourth and sixth grade at the former Â鶹ӰÒô International Center, and fourth grade in the Dual Language Program in its previous location at Delaware Community School.

She also served as an English as a new language teacher at William S. Hackett Middle School.

In addition, Zontini coordinated Newcomer Summer School from 2019-21, and taught summer school at a variety of district buildings before that. She joined the district in 2012 as a substitute teacher.

Zontini holds a bachelor’s degree in childhood education and special education from The College of Saint Rose, and a master’s degree in teaching English to students of other languages from the University at Â鶹ӰÒô. She holds school district and school building leadership certifications from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Zontini replaced Meghan D’Alessandro, who became principal at Pine Hills Elementary School at the start of the new year.
